Oaxacan Paper Batiks
7th grade learned about Mexican Folk Art in painting class. We discussed how folk art has been learned through tradition and has been passed down from generation to generation. Students were also able to draw any animal of their choice. Then they painted the animal in 3 separate layers adding interesting patterns and color. Then the students covered their painting in black ink, crumpled up their paper, and then rinsed their painting in the sink. The results are really neat!
