Google earth paintings
In the 8th grade exploratory painting class, students looked at the artwork created by the artists Eef and Patty Van Sprang. Both artists were inspired by the computer program, Google Earth, and painted aerial views of places that had meaning in their lives. The eight grade students were then asked to do the same. Each student located a place that had meaning to them. They then printed out an aerial image of that location and painted it on canvas incorporating mixed media for texture such as: glue, buttons, puzzle pieces, yarn, string, beads, and wire.
