Clay Houses
In ceramics class students studied various forms of architecture around the world. We looked at buildings from China, Russia, New York City, Africa and Australia. We discussed what they all had in common and what made them unique. We also looked at architect and artist Frank Lloyd Wright and his modern twist on architecture. Students were then asked to sketch 3 different house designs and choose one to create from clay. Students have the freedom to make any type of house as long as it contains windows and a door. This project really allows students to think creatively and make a house that is completely unique and one-of-a-kind.
